Sexuality: Straight. But at some points it's questionable if he even understands what love is.
Appearance: Lelouch is a skinny young teenager with bright, piercing violet eyes. He has flowing black that hangs over his forehead and is usually seen in his form fitting school uniform, or his Zero outfit. He is, at first glance, nothing special; pretty and distinct, comfortable in his appearance, and decidedly indifferent towards the world. He is prone to spacing out and blanking until someone gets his attention. A sly smirk is always present when he's around friends, and the only time he looks truly happy is when he is around family (such as Euphiemia or Nunnally). He is also weak-bodied and has low physical strength.

Lelouch's alter ego Zero carries itself in a distinctly different manner. He becomes a sucker for theatrics, each hand gesture and arm wave significant in its own right. He maintains perfect posture and wears a massive, full-length cape over an incredibly fancy custom-tailored suit and dress shirt. He wears afish bowl mechanical helmet on his head, which has a computer grid on the inside which centers, zooms, and gives small details about what he's seeing. It also reacts to the Geass being activated by opening a narrow slot to reveal his left eye so he can use the Geass.
Personality: Lelouch is, without a doubt, the embodiment of a Strategist. He is a confident, calm individual who is difficult to unnerve. He prefers being in the shadows to being acknowledged or confronted, and when he is confronted, he tends to lose his cool and even lose his temper. He is usually ten steps ahead of everyone around him, and always knows where to strike hardest in a battle of wits.
At school, Lelouch's attitude is a facade. While his thoughts travel a mile a minute, the world moves slower than molasses. Constantly bored, he even developed a habit of falling asleep in mid-thought with his head leaning on his arm. He maintains an air of collectedness around others, being perfectly charming and polite at almost all times.He is devoted, heart and soul to his friends at school, is Vice-Chairman of the Student Council, and is wanted by roughly half of the entire female student body.

When Lelouch dons the Zero ensemble, his true personality is revealed; manipulative, heartless, cold and calculating. He laughs at death and is overjoyed by destruction he himself has wrought. He considers his own army expendable, using his soldiers as bait to kill enemies and win battles. He is a ruthless tactician, who specializes in faking out his opponents to distract them from his real plans. Understandably, he is an unrivaled chess player and a world class strategist. His plans have the illusion of being ingenius and planned eons ahead of time, when really, Lelouch can simply think miles ahead of everyone else. His enemies are never sure if he's in the battle or not, but later on the enemy begins to understand the trademarks of his strategy (at which point he will initiate a completely unexpected surprise attack from another angle just to mess them up.)
Unfortunately, as Zero or as himself, Lelouch does not deal well with stress. When things go Not As Planned and he has no back-up plan, Lelouch can and will panic. He will stress out, sweat, completely lose his composure. The only things that really throw him off are worry for his sister Nunnally, Suzaku's constant interference in his plans, and a feeling of hopelessness. He hates being under pressure, and being toyed with, which is why Mao's mind-reading power frightens him so much. (Mao is one of the only people who frightens Lelouch in the anime, besides his father.)
Abilities: Lelouch possesses a super-intelligent strategic mind, capable of predicting an opponent's move before they make it simply by analyzing their personalities. This is also a drawback, since he is not good at thinking under pressure and has difficulty focusing on "here and now" as opposed to "ten minutes from now." He frequently gets ahead of himself as well. Physically, he is weak and can barely run very far without getting out of breath. He has skill with a handgun but tends not to use it except in rare instances.
His main ability is the Geass, a power infused into his left eye by an alien named C.C., which causes anyone he makes eye contact with to follow any order he gives them instantly. (Ranging from "do sit ups" to "kill yourself.")
Of all the Geass abilities in the series, Lelouch's has been explored the most, and also seems to have the most restrictions of any Geass introduced. The following parameters for its use have been established:
* Commands must be issued verbally.
* The victim must make direct eye contact for commands to be issued. The maximum effective distance is 270 meters. Line of sight via a reflective surface is sufficient for the effect to occur.
* Commands may be issued only once to any given individual, but any number of commands may be issued at initial application so long as eye contact is unbroken.
* The victim will not perform any action disallowed by their physical or mental capabilities, though they will try to carry out the command to the best of their ability. For example, a victim will not be able to correctly answer a question they don't know the answer to, but will direct the user to someone who can if they are able.
* An action will be carried out for as long as dictated in its command, or upon the indicated conditional circumstance. Eye contact does not need to be maintained for command execution to occur.
* The victim will retain no memories from the duration of command issue and execution.
* As demonstrated in Princess Euphemia's response to the command that she kill the Japanese, a victim may resist a commanded action to some degree if it is utterly repugnant to them.
* So long as the above conditions are met, commands may be issued to anybody besides C.C. and to any number of individuals at once. The user himself may also be commanded.
